The transitional style of this modern home induces a peaceful, relaxed feel that resonates with most people which is the intention of a model home design. Throughout this model home, custom details were designed to make the experience memorable to a potential buyer. I chose a taupe grey neutral canvas and implemented those colors throughout the home.
The open kitchen/living space had pops of color that balanced the peaceful mood of the design concept. The marble fireplace surround was framed by a natural colored, carved maple paneling. On either side of the fireplace hung Italian-made glass shelves, perfectly complimenting the focal point of the room. PDB Designs used hand-forged decorative metal lighting to excite the design. The kitchen was designed with a custom-made copper hood and the appliances were seamlessly installed flush to the doors of the cabinetry and finished in graphite colored stainless steel. Additionally, I designed a unique yin/yang island to fit the architectural design of the ceiling using a grey washed opened grain oak atop of the quartz counter surface.
